General Academy & Admissions
CSIA is an 11-19 academy. We welcome students from Year 7 through to Year 13 (Sixth Form).
Applications for Year 7 are handled by Cornwall Council, the Local Authority. You must complete their common application form and adhere to their deadlines. Please visit the Cornwall Council school admissions website for details.
CSIA manages its own in-year admission. Please complete the online application form found on our application process page. Our Admissions Policy provides full details on this process, including oversubscription criteria.
Yes, we hold specific Open Evenings for CSIA (Year 7), Nexus, Camborne Sixth Form, and CSMS. We also offer individual school tours during the school day. Please visit our Visit Us page for dates and how to arrange a tour.

Our general school timings can be found in the parents section of the website. Specific timings for Nexus, Camborne Sixth Form, and CSMS may vary slightly and will be provided upon admission or during open events.

Nexus
Nexus is the Gifted Programme at Camborne Science and International Academy, located on its own campus. It offers a bespoke curriculum designed to engage and challenge the most able students. The program also includes a rich co-curricular program that complements the curriculum and deepens the scholarship of these students. Nexus is also home of our specialist A-Level provision for STEM subjects through the Cornwall School of Maths and Science.

Camborne Sixth Form
Camborne Sixth Form offers a wide range of A-Level and Level 3 Vocational courses across various subjects, catering to different interests and career aspirations.
Entry requirements vary by course, but generally require specific GCSE grades. Please refer to our Sixth Form Prospectus for detailed subject-specific requirements. Our minimum entry requirement is 4 grade 4’s at GCSE (or equivalent) to include English and/or Maths.
Applications for Camborne Sixth Form are made directly to the academy. Information on the application process and deadlines can be found on our admission page.
Cornwall School of Maths and Science (CSMS)
CSMS is a specialist post-16 provision for academically able students passionate about STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths), offering a highly rigorous and focused curriculum.
CSMS students must take 2 subjects from Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science. All students study for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Students can then select other subjects form Camborne Sixth Form to complement their STEM based subjects.
Typically, students need to achieve Grade 8 or above in the subjects they wish to study at CSMS, in addition to four further GCSEs at Grade 6 or above. Specific requirements are detailed in the CSMS Prospectus [Link to PDF].
Yes, CSMS provides dedicated, intensive support and guidance for students aspiring to competitive universities like Oxford and Cambridge, and for demanding courses such as Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science.
