Staff Wellbeing
We are committed to fostering a collegiate environment where staff feel listened to, supported, and able to support one another in their professional development. Staff wellbeing is a priority, and we encourage a culture of care, collaboration and respect across the school.
We actively promote emotional and physical health through initiatives such as staff fitness activities, NHS health checks, flu jabs, and access to mental health support. Staff are encouraged to work in ways that suit their lifestyle and wellbeing, with no expectation to stay late or appear busy. To support work-life balance, we discourage email communication after 6pm or during weekends and holidays, and recommend scheduling messages where helpful.
Workload is managed through a well-planned assessment calendar, giving time for moderation and collaboration. We’re moving away from unnecessary data collection towards more meaningful formative assessment strategies. Staff also choose their own duty days, aligned to contract hours, to help manage their time effectively.
Our respectful culture ensures calm, purposeful classrooms, supported by strong, centralised behaviour systems. We offer flexible wellbeing support through trained mentors, a clear care structure, and a half-termly wellbeing week with no after-school commitments.
Finally, we seek regular feedback through anonymous staff surveys to ensure we continue to listen, reflect and improve.
Anti-Bullying
If you have been a victim of bullying, or have witnessed bullying and would like to report it, then please talk to your year team as soon as possible. Be sure to give your name and as many details as possible for us to follow up.
Child Protection
If you are concerned about your safety or the safety of another child, about any Racial or Equality issues then please contact Mr Fenlon as soon as possible.
Child Exploitation Online Protection
If you feel that you have suffered abuse through technological resources (like internet chat rooms or mobile phones) outside of school, then you can report abuse to CEOP. The Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre deals with very serious incidents of abuse, your report is likely to be passed on to the police.
