Clubs That Build Character

Our clubs are all about having fun, making friends and trying new things. They also help students build character – that means learning to be honest, kind, resilient, ambitious and respectful. These are the character traits that make someone stand out for university and employment, not just their grades.

  • In Skate Club, students help each other learn new tricks, even if they’re still learning themselves. They show respect to staff at Mount Hawke Skate Park and keep trying, even when it’s tough. That’s called resilience, and it’s something we’re proud of.
  • In Camborne Theatre Company, students act, sing, dance or help backstage in big shows like Mary Poppins and Annie. Showing resilience and ambition while supporting each other with altruism and respect. It’s a chance to dream big and take on new challenges with responsibility.

At CSIA, you’re not just learning –
You’re becoming extraordinary

What Else Can You Do at CSIA? There’s lots to choose from:

  • After-school clubs in lots of different areas
  • Combined Cadet Force
  • Sporting events
  • Trips with school departments
  • Work experience
  • University visits
  • Outdoor adventures including Ten Tors
  • Lunchtime activities like basketball, table tennis and the fitness trail
  • Dream Big events – talk to real people about careers that match your Dream Big and what you want to achieve in life

Students help decide what clubs we run. We listen to your ideas and do our best to make them happen. That’s how we started Bike Club – because students asked for it!

Amazing Local Support

We work with brilliant local organisations to make clubs even better, including:

How Clubs Work

  • Some clubs have limited spaces. If you don’t get your first choice this term, you’ll be top of the list next time.
  • We ask students to sign up for clubs so we know who’s going and can plan transport or equipment.
  • If a club is cancelled, we’ll tell you on My Child At School or by text. If you can’t go home at 3:00pm, see Mrs Gellatly – she’ll arrange for you to be looked after until 4:15pm.
