Nine Year 8 students from Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) have proudly graduated from the first-ever Jon Egging Trust Blue Skies programme run at the school. The programme is designed to boost confidence, resilience and ambition, and the youngsters have spent the past academic year taking part in activities aimed at building resilience, communication and teamwork skills.
The Blue Skies programme aims to support and empower young people who may be struggling to fully engage with school, helping them rediscover their motivation and self-belief. Through a range of inspiring, STEM-focused activities, students are encouraged to think about their futures and develop skills for life.
At the final celebration event, the students delivered moving speeches about their journey and growth over the year, impressing staff, mentors and guests with their courage and maturity.
Principal Emma Haase said she was incredibly proud of the Year 8 students for completing the transformative programme, adding that watching them grow in confidence and realise their potential had been truly inspiring. She also said the Jon Egging Trust’s work aligns beautifully with the school’s values and that the academy looks forward to continuing the programme in future.
CSIA says this graduation marks a significant milestone and the beginning of more opportunities to help students unlock their potential through experiences that build aspiration, self-belief and life skills.
