Year 10 and Year 11 students from Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) embarked on an unforgettable educational visit to Winnipeg, Canada, as part of the school’s global learning programme.

During the week‑long trip, pupils settled into life at local schools including Fort Richmond Collegiate and Shaftesbury College, joining lessons with their homestay peers, sampling authentic Canadian school lunches, and enjoying social experiences such as shopping trips and meals with friends.

The highlight of the visit was the Global Youth Challenge Student Summit, where students took part in specialist‑led workshops focused on sustainable agriculture. These sessions offered real‑world links to their geography, biology and chemistry studies and encouraged pupils to think critically about global sustainability issues.

Accompanying staff praised the students for their enthusiasm, engagement and exemplary conduct throughout the visit, describing the experience as a culturally enriching opportunity that combined academic exploration with personal development.

Principal Emma Haase said the academy was incredibly proud of the pupils’ curiosity, maturity and positive attitudes. She added that opportunities like this allow students to broaden their horizons, make international connections and develop a global mindset that will stay with them beyond the classroom.
