Camborne Science & International Academy has taken another step towards improving the quality of its school meals by partnering with Cornhill Farm, a Kehelland‑based supplier of free‑range, farm‑fresh eggs.
Under the new arrangement, eggs are delivered to the academy weekly and are used across the school’s freshly prepared catering menu, from breakfast dishes to freshly baked foods, giving students access to high‑quality, nutritious ingredients produced close to home.
The partnership forms part of CSIA’s wider commitment to sourcing food sustainably and supporting local businesses in Cornwall. The school is also working with Etherington Butchers to bring locally sourced meat into its meals, with plans to expand its use of Cornish produce even further.
The move follows the academy’s recent decision to bring its catering service in‑house, allowing staff to ensure every meal served is fresh, balanced and delicious.
Principal Emma Haase said the partnership with Cornhill Farm represents “a small change with a big impact,” adding that choosing local ingredients benefits both the students’ food quality and the local farming community while helping reduce the school’s environmental footprint.
